We're excited to announce our latest BEE Award winner, Jeff Wallace!

His BEE nomination comes from a fellow caregiver:
We would like to nominate Jeff Wallace, our Biomedical Engineer, for the BEE Award. Jeff exemplifies this award not through a single extraordinary moment, but through the countless ways he consistently shows up for our team, our patients, and our organization.
Recently, our team faced an urgent equipment issue. Rather than simply addressing the immediate concern, Jeff took ownership of the situation from start to finish. He worked with the technologists, contacted the vendor to help confirm the diagnosis, and escalated the issue when needed. He even stayed late to order the necessary replacement part overnight and personally ensured it was installed the next morning. His quick response and attention to detail allowed us to continue our surgery cases without delay, ultimately protecting both patient care and department operations.
What makes this example so meaningful is that this level of dedication is not unusual for Jeff—it is who he is every day.
Jeff is always available to answer a call, regardless of the time of day. He has transported equipment between campuses, made himself available for late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays, and consistently does whatever is necessary to keep our department running safely and efficiently.
Jeff goes far beyond simply repairing equipment. He brings a positive attitude to every interaction. He never seems overwhelmed, even when multiple urgent needs arise at once. He is humble and approachable, and he genuinely loves his job. He takes pride in helping others and has become someone our team completely trusts.
Most importantly, Jeff understands that biomed is ultimately about patient care. Every piece of equipment he maintains, every late-night call he answers, and every problem he solves helps ensure our technologists can safely provide the care our patients need. He may not be in the procedure room, but his behind-the-scenes work is essential to making that care possible.
In summary, Jeff truly embodies what it means to Be Exceptional Every day. He is dependable when we need him, calm when things turn chaotic, generous with his time and knowledge, and consistently willing to go the extra mile and he does all of this with an exceptional attitude and without seeking recognition. He is an invaluable teammate who makes a meaningful difference in our organization every day.
For these reasons, we cannot think of anyone more deserving of the BEE Award than Jeff.
