See a Board-Certified OB/GYN at DCH Health System

The DCH Health System understands how seriously you take your health. The female body has unique biological functions that males do not experience, such as menstruation, childbirth, and menopause. At DCH Health System, our board-certified obstetricians and gynecologists (OB/GYNs) provide care for all of these women’s health issues and more, as experts in female reproductive health, pregnancy, and labor/delivery.

The best way a woman can protect her health is with preventative care, meaning you should get a checkup once per year. During your appointment, your OB/GYN may conduct evaluations or lab tests to check for specific diseases, depending on your overall health, your age, and your sexual history. Women should see their OB/GYN for pregnancy, menopause, and any time they experience abnormal or unexpected changes, such as unusual cramping.

OB/GYNs commonly treat:

  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding
  • Pelvic pain
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Bacterial vaginosis
  • Endometriosis
  • Breast disorders
  • Hormonal disorders
  • Sexually transmitted infections/diseases (STIs or STDs)
  • Infertility
  • And more

Our Facilities for Women’s Services

West Alabama is fortunate to have two excellent facilities offering both family-oriented childbirth and intensive care units for critically ill newborns. The Women’s Center at DCH Regional Medical Center offers rooms decorated in a homelike atmosphere, and two-room suites and private accommodations are available. At the Women’s Pavilion at Northport Medical Center, a mother can stay in the same comfortable, well-equipped room from the time she arrives until the day she goes home.

Both hospitals feature neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) directed by physician specialists and staffed by experienced nurses.

The DCH Health System offers clinical-based education programs through the Women's Center at DCH Regional Medical Center and Women's Pavilion at Northport Medical Center.
