I just want to take a moment to recognize how truly exceptional Skylar is in her role as a Nurse Manager. Her leadership is the perfect balance of strength, compassion, and professionalism.
What makes Skylar stand out is her dedication to both her team and our patients. She never hesitates to step onto the floor to help with patient care when we are short-staffed or overwhelmed. She rolls up her sleeves, takes patients, and works side by side with us, showing that she would never ask her staff to do something she wouldn’t do herself. Her presence in those moments lifts morale and reminds us that we are a team.
Skylar never loses sight of why we are here and that’s the patients. She advocates tirelessly for the best care possible and sets the tone for compassionate, patient-centered nursing. Families have often expressed gratitude for how “different” our unit feels warm, welcoming, and safe. That culture exists because of Skylar’s leadership.
