BEE Winner: Angelique Powell

BEE Winner: Angelique Powell

Congratulations to Angelique Powell, patient care assistant, North Harbor Pavilion. She is one of the March recipients of the BEE Award.

Powell was nominated by social worker Bailey Proctor who wrote:

“We have a patient who requires a 1:1 at all times. Angelique has been one of the main PCAs assigned to [this patient] since being admitted.

“When this patient came to us, [the patient] couldn’t do anything [independently] such as feeding, dressing and bathing and had extreme difficulty regulating emotions.

“Angelique has helped teach this patient how to do activities of daily living mostly independently again. She has helped [this person] figure out ways to safely regulate emotions.

“This patient loves Angelique because of the structure, kindness and compassion she has shown, and it’s clear how safe [this person] feels with her. Angelique deserves the BEE Award and so much more for the care she’s given to this patient. I truly believe [the patient] wouldn’t have gotten to this point if it wasn’t for Angelique.”

BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday. This award recognizes extraordinary service from our non-nursing staff. Any employee from any department (except RNs) can be nominated for the BEE Award. RNs are recognized for exceptional service with The DAISY Award.

BEE Award nominations will be accepted from patients, patients’ family members, physicians, DCH employees and volunteers. If you’ve experienced or witnessed extraordinary service from a DCH team member, then nominate that person for the BEE Award.
