DCH Selects New Chief Operating Officer

(Oct. 3, 2022, Tuscaloosa, Ala.) Mallary Myers, DNP, will join the DCH Health System as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer on Oct. 31, 2022. Myers will focus on the growth of the system’s outpatient and ancillary services as well as supporting efforts in partnering with the communities DCH serves through outreach and innovation.

Myers is currently serving as the Vice President of Ancillary Operations and Chief Innovation Officer at Augusta University Health, where she was recently named one of the top Chief Innovation Officers in the United States by Becker’s Healthcare.

“I am confident Mallary’s leadership will be a tremendous asset to DCH,” said Katrina Keefer,

President and CEO, DCH Health System. “Mallary’s track record of success speaks for itself, and her skills will complement our existing team with practical experience that will help us accelerate change.”

While in Augusta, she helped lead COVID-19 response efforts, including operationalizing a statewide testing strategy and a mass vaccination plan. Myers was instrumental in securing nearly $6 million in grants and federal appropriations funding. Additionally, she oversaw operational process improvement plans that resulted $6 million in annual cost savings. Myers had executive responsibility for informatics and data analytics, as well as an array of ancillary departments including radiology, pathology, therapy services, respiratory care and oncology services.

Prior to her time in Augusta, Myers led similar initiatives at Baptist Health System in

Montgomery where she served the VP of Operational Improvement and Innovation and previously as the Chief Nursing Information Officer.

Myers started her career as an oncology nurse. She earned a master’s degree from Aspen

University and then a doctorate from Vanderbilt University, both in nursing and health system leadership.
