DCH Recognized with Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award

The Black Warrior Council of the Boy Scouts of America today recognized DCH Health System and Whatley Health Services (Maude Whatley) each with a Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award.

According to the Boy Scouts, “The purpose of the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award is to recognize outstanding services by an adult individual or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for youth from rural or low-income urban backgrounds – this is in fulfillment of Dr. Young’s dream of justice and equity for all.”

DCH has been a contributing sponsor to many scouting events over the years. Additionally, with the award, the council acknowledged and thanked the staff of DCH and Maude Whatley for their service and dedication during the pandemic.
