DCH Foundation Announces Patient Impact Grant Recipients

The DCH Foundation is excited to announce the Patient Impact Grant award winners for the 2018-2019 fiscal year. The 25 grants total more than $200,000. Eight of this year’s grants will go towards patient assistance funds.

These grants are funded by volunteer giving program, unrestricted donations, and the we give Employee Giving Program. The Patient Impact Grant Program funded more than $750,000 in projects since 2013. The committee that funds these awards is the Patient Impact Grant Advisory Committee. Here are the grantees and the amount granted to each:

  • $15,000 Care Coordination – Patient assistance – medications; transportation; medical equipment; temp housing

  • $13,363 Radiology School – Equipment – Radiographic body phantom manikin

  • $10,000 Diabetes Nutrition & Education Center – Patient assistance – diabetes self-management training; Relion starter kits

  • $10,000 Home Health – Patient assistance – scales; blood pressure monitors; medications; utility assistance; smoke detectors; medical equipment; food; exterminator services; transportation

  • $10,000 Home Medical Equipment – Patient assistance – oxygen; hospital beds; walkers; wheelchairs; canes; crutches; nebulizers; CPAP equipment

  • $10,000 NMC ED – Equipment bladder scanner

  • $10,000 OP Lab – Equipment – Furniture for waiting room

  • $10,000 PeriOperative Services – Equipment – kwikboost floorstand charging stations for waiting rooms in PeriOp areas

  • $10,000 Safety/Security – Equipment – solar-powered cellular communication emergency call boxes for the parking lots

  • $10,000 Volunteer Services – Supplies for employee recognition cart

  • $ 8,370 Ultrasound School – Equipment – OB phantom manikin

  • $ 8,200 Medical Oncology – Equipment – blood warmer

  • $ 5,000 General Counsel – Equipment – two-way radios

  • $ 5,000 NMC Nursing Administration – Patient assistance – cab vouchers

  • $ 5,000 RMC Nursing Administration – Patient assistance – cab vouchers

  • $ 5,000 Wound Healing Center – Patient assistance – wound care supplies; gauze; tape; wound cleaner and other wound dressings

  • $ 2,500 2SE – Equipment – Scaletronix standing scale

  • $ 2,500 NMC Total Joint Unit – Equipment – Stryker wheelchair

  • $ 2,000 Patient Liaison – Patient assistance – patient/family food; clothing; toiletries; personal necessities

Augusta Hawkins Fund

  • $ 8,000 RMC/NMC Nursing – critical care and progressive care certification courses on-site at DCH

Heart Program Fund

  • $10,000 Cardiac Rehab – total body exerciser

Faulkner Fund

  • $10,000 Radiation Oncology – bladder scanner

  • $10,000 Volunteers – South Lobby renovation

  • $ 8,936 NMC Prep & Discharge – patient recliners for PAT

  • $ 5,000 Acute Care Therapy – bariatric wheelchair; reclining wheelchair; tiltiwheelchair; bariatric walker; geri walker
