Pathway To Practice

Our Pathway to Practice (PTP) is a structured Nurse Residency Program designed specifically for new graduate nurses transitioning into professional bedside practice. This program offers critical support and education to help our new nurses thrive in their clinical roles, enhance patient care, and build confidence as they begin their nursing careers!

Program Goals

To better prepare new graduate nurses for a successful and fulfilling professional career by providing mentorship, continuing education, and peer support during the transition from student to practicing nurse. 

Program Details

  • 18-month program
  • Class occurs once a month 
  • Each class no more than 4 hours in length
  • Schedule option for morning class or afternoon class
  • Participation highly encouraged by all new graduates
  • CEU credits

You are automatically enrolled in PTP upon being hired as a new graduate nurse. Your suggested class schedule will be provided to you by DCH along with your orientation information and materials.
