We're excited announce our latest BEE Award winner, Matthew Munn! Along with winning one of DCH's Bee awards for the month of September, we're thrilled to announce that he has earned his Board Certified Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist (BCPPS) certification. This makes him one of only 17 pharmacists in Alabama to hold this prestigious designation! Here is his BEE nomination:
I am nominating Matthew Munn for the BEE Award because his dedication, compassion, and attention to detail go far beyond filling prescriptions. He is a vital part of our healthcare team, ensuring that every patient receives safe, effective, and personalized care.
Matt takes the time to explain each medication, answer questions thoroughly, and check for potential interactions. His calm and reassuring manner puts both patients and staff at ease, even in high-pressure situations.
He consistently goes the extra mile—whether it’s staying late to resolve an urgent prescription, calling a physician to clarify a dose, or helping a patient find a more affordable option. His commitment is not only to clinical excellence but also to the well-being of the whole person.
Matt embodies the spirit of the BEE Award by providing the “extra” touch that turns good care into exceptional care. His professionalism, empathy, and dedication make a profound difference every single day, and our team is stronger because of him.
BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday. This award recognizes extraordinary service from our non-nursing staff. Any employee from any department (except RNs) can be nominated for the BEE Award. RNs are recognized for exceptional service with The DAISY Award.
BEE Award nominations will be accepted from patients, patients’ family members, physicians, DCH employees and volunteers. If you’ve experienced or witnessed extraordinary service from a DCH team member, then nominate that person for the BEE Award.
