Congrats to Tommy Sanders, Jr.: DCH's latest BEE Award Winner!

Our latest BEE Award winner really exemplifies the heart of a DCH Caregiver! This is what a patient wrote about Tommy Sanders, Jr. (Rehab, Northport Medical Center):

During my stay in the Rehab Pavilion, I had the privilege of being cared for by Tommy Sanders, Jr., who went above and beyond in his role as my PCA. Tommy was attentive, funny and engaging – his positive energy often helped take my mind off both my spinal injury and the difficult emotions of recently losing my son in a car accident. He was sensitive and compassionate about what I was going through, yet also encouraged me to keep pushing through my pain and focus on my recovery. His upbeat attitude, patience and genuine care made a lasting impact on my healing journey. Plus, I have to mention he always smelled good and his sneaker game was on point! :)

Tommy truly made a tough season a little brighter, and I’m sincerely grateful for the support and motivation he provided during my rehabilitation.

Nicely done, Tommy! Congratulations!

BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday. This award recognizes extraordinary service from our non-nursing staff. Any employee from any department (except RNs) can be nominated for the BEE Award. RNs are recognized for exceptional service with The DAISY Award.

BEE Award nominations will be accepted from patients, patients’ family members, physicians, DCH employees and volunteers. If you’ve experienced or witnessed extraordinary service from a DCH team member, then nominate that person for the BEE Award.

Clear display boxes, which include printed nomination forms, are located throughout DCH hospitals for both the BEE Award and The DAISY Award. Click here to use the electronic forms.
