We're excited announce our latest BEE Award winner, Madison Johnson. Here is her nomination:
I would like to nominate Madison Johnson, a Radiology Transporter, for the BEE award. I first met Madison when she was working as a cashier in the Patio Grill. She made such a positive impression on me then that I would choose to get in her checkout line on purpose because she was so sweet and friendly, a genuine joy to interact with. I even saw her swipe her badge to pay for a visitor’s meal once when they were struggling to find enough money in their wallet.
Recently, I have seen her in scrubs transporting patients for Radiology, so I knew she had changed positions. At first, I was sad to think that she wouldn’t be in the cafeteria any longer, but the more I have witnessed her interactions with her patients, I am now certain that God placed on the patch of direct patient care to bring comfort to those in need.
Every time I see her transporting a patient, she is actively engaged with the patient in friendly conversation, usually making them smile or laugh – definitely making them feel cared for and important during what is usually a scary time for them. In addition, she also greets everyone she passes along the way with a warm smile and positive message.
Madison has such a warm, friendly personality and exudes genuine kindness and compassion to her patients. It is evident that she enjoys her job and is dedicated to our patients. She role models the way we want our patients to be treated. I definitely feel that she deserves recognition for being an extraordinary member of our DCH team of caregivers – we are very blessed to have her.
BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday. This award recognizes extraordinary service from our non-nursing staff. Any employee from any department (except RNs) can be nominated for the BEE Award. RNs are recognized for exceptional service with The DAISY Award.
BEE Award nominations will be accepted from patients, patients’ family members, physicians, DCH employees and volunteers. If you’ve experienced or witnessed extraordinary service from a DCH team member, then nominate that person for the BEE Award.
Clear display boxes, which include printed nomination forms, are located throughout DCH hospitals for both the BEE Award and The DAISY Award. Click here to use the electronic forms.
