We're excited announce our latest BEE Award winner, Mechelle Reed! Here is her nomination:
I am pleased to nominate Mechelle Reed for the BEE award in recognition of her outstanding dedication to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in our Laundry department, particularly with regard to the sterile laundry towels and operating gowns that are critical to patient safety during surgical procedures.
Mechelle has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to ensuring that all surgical linens-specifically towels and operating gowns-are not only cleaned to the highest standards but also handled with a level of care that directly supports our efforts in patient safety. She has a meticulous eye for detail and a strong sense of responsibility when it comes to the effectiveness of our sterile processing protocols. Her work ensures that these vital items are free from contamination and meet all required safety guidelines, preventing any risk of infection or complications for patients undergoing surgery.
In addition to her expertise, Mechelle is a reliable team player who consistently fosters a positive and collaborative environment. Her ability to mentor new staff members, communicate effectively with colleagues, and contribute to improving our overall processes is greatly appreciated by all who work with her.
For all of these reasons, I strongly believe that Mechelle deserves to be recognized with this award. Her dedication to patient safety, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence have had a significant positive impact on our operations and the well-being of our patients.
BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday. This award recognizes extraordinary service from our non-nursing staff. Any employee from any department (except RNs) can be nominated for the BEE Award. RNs are recognized for exceptional service with The DAISY Award.
BEE Award nominations will be accepted from patients, patients’ family members, physicians, DCH employees and volunteers. If you’ve experienced or witnessed extraordinary service from a DCH team member, then nominate that person for the BEE Award.
