We're excited announce our latest BEE Award winner, Alayzha Tucker! Here is her nomination:
As one of the primary baristas at Starbucks, Lay Lay performs the important task of keeping many of the healthcare team members caffeinated and full of energy each day. Lay Lay works the morning shift and has to be at work earlier than most employees and always comes to work cheerful with a smile on her face. She remembers so many names and even specific orders of the regular customers she sees every day and even some patient family members who frequently visit as well. This promotes a welcoming and intentional environment to visitors and staff alike. I have witnessed her personally pay for someone’s order when they have been in a tight spot or forgotten their badge or wallet – how selfless!
In a place where so many people are taking care of patients needs, it’s so kind of Lay Lay to make sure we all feel like she is taking care of us too. If myself or many of my coworkers need a pick me up, visiting the coffee shop is always sure to do the trick thanks to her hard work and dedication.
BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday. This award recognizes extraordinary service from our non-nursing staff. Any employee from any department (except RNs) can be nominated for the BEE Award. RNs are recognized for exceptional service with The DAISY Award.
BEE Award nominations will be accepted from patients, patients’ family members, physicians, DCH employees and volunteers. If you’ve experienced or witnessed extraordinary service from a DCH team member, then nominate that person for the BEE Award.
