We're excited to announce Dr. Amit Shah and cath lab team at DCH have successfully implanted their first Aurora EV-ICD™ implant at DCH to treat sudden cardiac arrest and abnormal heart rhythms with defibrillation and antitachycardia pacing (ATP).
The Aurora EV-ICD system is the first-of-its-kind defibrillator with the lead placed under the sternum, outside of the heart and veins. It delivers lifesaving defibrillation and anti-tachycardia pacing (ATP) therapy all in one system via a single implanted device that is similar in size, shape, and longevity to a traditional, transvenous ICD. Congratulations Dr. Shah and the DCH cath lab team for this milestone, and for elevating the quality of cardiovascular care to our community.
