Bio
Vinayak Memula, MD is a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has recently joined DCH Health System. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his postgraduate medical training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, along with a preliminary medicine internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Memula’s clinical interests include neurologic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, functional recovery, and comprehensive, patient-centered care aimed at improving quality of life and long-term outcomes. He brings a strong academic foundation to his practice, with research contributions spanning functional outcomes in rehabilitation populations, neurologic conditions, oncology-related complications, and neonatal physiology. His work has been presented at national and international medical conferences, including meetings of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Thoracic Society, and the Pediatric Academic Societies.
Dr. Memula is deeply committed to service and community involvement, with volunteer experience that includes student-run clinics, vision screening programs, smoking cessation counseling, academic tutoring, and international medical mission work. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and the American Medical Association.
