COVID-19 Update

August 14, 2020

Fayette Medical Center Long Term Care continues to take proactive measures to decrease the risk of exposure for the residents who live in our facility. We continue to have a no visitation policy with exemptions specified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services. Group activities and the dining program inside the facility remain cancelled. Preventive measures are put in place for those individuals at increased risk of exposure including those who have recently had a hospital stay or those who may have come in contact with a positive individual. All employees and residents are provided personal protective equipment and monitored for signs and symptoms of the virus. Resident safety remains our top priority.

Weekly total COVID – 19:

• 0 residents tested positive
• Less than 5 employees tested positive

Cumulative COVID-19 report:

• 13 residents positive
• 19 employees positive

Employees who test positive self-isolate at home.

We are in contact with the Alabama Department of Public Health and CDC to make sure all infection control measures are followed. We are testing Long Term Care employees and residents in the facility weekly.
