BEE Winner: John Carrier

Congratulations to John Carrier who is a recent recipient of the BEE Award! He works in Guest Services at the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center.

Carrier was nominated by co-worker Samantha McDaniel who wrote:

“There isn’t any situation in particular to tell because John is extremely helpful every single day. No matter what kind of day he is having, he is still super polite and willing to help in any way he can.

“We have so many patients who need wheelchairs. John will help them in and out of the chair and take them anywhere they need to go, no matter where it may be. He will take the patient out to their vehicle and help them out of the chair and into the car if needed.

“John always has a smile on his face and asks any and everyone how they are doing. Anytime Medical Oncology checkout has a patient in a chair, they can call for John and he goes right up and gets the patient. We are so very thankful for John here in the Cancer Center. He is the kindest soul, and I’m so glad I have the pleasure of working with him.”

BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday. This award recognizes extraordinary service from our non-nursing staff. This means that any employee from any department (except RNs) can be nominated for the BEE Award.

BEE Award nominations will be accepted from patients, patients’ family members, physicians, DCH employees and volunteers. If you’ve experienced or witnessed extraordinary service from a DCH team member, then nominate that person for the BEE Award.
