For more than 15 years, DCH Health System has partnered with the Boy Scouts of America, to sponsor Explorer posts for local and area students between the ages of 14-21.
The Medical Explorers meet monthly during the school year to hear and experience presentations from different departments throughout the health system. A different career is featured each month, and the students have the opportunity to engage in tours and hands-on activities related to various healthcare careers.
The program provides Explorers with information about educational requirements, potential salaries, personal insights and typical responsibilities related to careers in healthcare. Annual enrollment is held at the beginning of each school year, usually in August or September.
