Northport Medical Center’s Cardiac Rehab services are designed to help patients with heart disease through their recovery so that they may return to normal and productive lives. The monitored program (Phase II) typically lasts 12 - 18 weeks, with two to three sessions per week. There is also a maintenance program (Phase III/IV) where participants exercise three times per week under staff supervision.
Patients with heart disease, angina (chest pain), myocardial infarctions (heart attacks), coronary artery bypass graft surgery, heart valve surgery, angioplasty and/or stent and congestive heart failure are eligible to enroll with physician referral. The supervised exercise sessions (Phase III/IV) require membership to Fitness One.
During the monitored program, patients will participate in individualized exercise sessions, with education and counseling opportunities. Education topics such as exercise, medication, heart-healthy diets, stress management, heart disease and treatments will be offered.
