DCH Regional Medical Center
DCH Regional Medical Center provides critical care services for medical, surgical, cardiac, trauma, pediatric and neonatal patients. Our critical care services are designed to provide the very latest in patient care. Our medical and trauma units have been renovated and updated in order to provide the best possible care to the West Alabama community.
Medical Intensive Care Unit
The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), located on the first floor of DCH Regional Medical Center, is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of medical emergencies. The MICU has been recently renovated. The 16-bed unit is designed to maintain patient privacy while providing state-of-the-art monitoring equipment to meet the needs of the critically ill adult patient. A Medical Subintensive Care Unit is located on the fourth floor of DCH Regional Medical Center.
Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care Unit
The Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (TSICU) is located on the second floor of DCH Regional Medical Center. The 16-bed unit is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of trauma and surgical emergencies. TSICU patient rooms are equipped to maintain a patient’s privacy while providing state-of-the-art monitoring equipment to meet the physiological needs of critically ill adult patients.
Acute Cardiac Care Unit
The Acute Cardiac Care Unit (ACCU) provides care for nonsurgical, acutely ill cardiac patients requiring intensive care. ACCU, renovated in 1999, is located on the first floor of DCH Regional Medical Center. It is a 16-bed unit with all private rooms and is designed to provide intensive care nursing and close observation of patients.
Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit
The Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit is a four-bed unit specializing in the care and treatment of patients during the critical period immediately following open heart surgery.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides intensive and immediate care to newborns. NICU staff provides 24-hour patient care for newborns and provides emotional reassurance to parents. The NICU is located on the third floor of DCH Regional Medical Center in the Women’s Center.
