Medical/Surgical Units
The Medical/Surgical Units at DCH Regional Medical Center care for patients with a variety of medical diagnoses and problems, as well as patients recovering from all types of surgical procedures. Each unit specializes in caring for a particular medical or surgical diagnosis.
3 South is a 36-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in pulmonary rehabilitation. This unit primarily cares for respiratory disease patients, as well as cardiac telemetry and ventilator patients. Patients are partially to totally assisted with the activities of daily living. Complex medical/respiratory therapy is given to patients. Noninvasive cardiac monitoring, medication management and patient/family education are also provided.
2 Southeast Oncology is a 36-bed unit specializing in the treatment of cancer patients. Inpatients receive IV therapy, including chemotherapy. Patients receive pain management, grief counseling, supportive care and complex patient/family education.
3 North/OB:Women's Center
4 South is a 36-bed unit specializing in renal, diabetic, complex medical and cardiac telemetry patients. Patients are assisted partially to totally with daily activities. Nutritional support, medication management, cardiac monitoring, skin and wound care and patient/family education is provided.
Dialysis
The dialysis area on 4 South is an eight-bed area specializing in hemodialysis and peritoneal treatments. The unit operates Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. A registered nurse is on call when the unit is closed.
5 South is a 36-bed unit specializing in caring for patients who are recovering from general surgical procedures, including laparoscopic procedures. Inpatients receive assistance with daily activities. Nutritional support, medication management and patient/family education is provided.
7 South is a 38-bed unit for orthopedic, neurological, urology and plastic surgery patients. This unit cares for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Patients are assisted with daily activities, postoperative teaching and physical therapy instruction.
7 North/Center is an Acute Care Nursing unit caring for mostly medical patients with some surgical patients.
