The Intensive Care Unit at Fayette Medical Center is an eight-bed general intensive care unit, which provides an intense level of care for medical, cardiac and postoperative patients. This unit is staffed by professional registered nurses that are trained in advanced life support. Several of our RNs also have advanced certification in critical care nursing.
The RNs are supported by a Monitor Tech/Patient Care Tech when necessary. The ICU is located immediately behind the Med/Surg Nursing Unit, which allows for quick access to additional nursing resources as needed. The large patient care rooms are designed with the latest monitoring and emergency equipment, yet also provide privacy through “break-away” glass doors that can quickly be completely opened during emergency situations.
