Our staff takes great care to safeguard your privacy. Your message will be sent directly from the DCH Health System website to a secure site. However, because we print and hand-deliver e-mail messages to your loved one, others may view the message you send. We suggest you that you do not put anything in the message that you would not put on a postcard. Please don't insert pictures or send any form of attachment, as they will automatically be deleted.
We know how important it is to keep in close contact with family and friends.
That's why we are pleased to provide you with Care Mail, our new
e-mail service to our patients.
When preparing your message, please put "Care Mail" in the subject line, and specify for which facility the message is intended (DCH Regional Medical Center, Northport Medical Center or Fayette Medical Center).
We must locate the patient in our inpatient directory in order to find their room number, so please be sure to include the patient's full name in your message. We will not be able to locate a patient by nicknames or terms of endearment, such as "Maw Maw Smith", "Aunt Sally" or Bubba Smith.
Care Mail will be delivered Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and Noon, (holidays excluded). Care Mail messages sent on Saturday or Sunday will be delivered the following Monday. If the patient has been discharged by the time the message is received, no attempt will be made to forward the message to the patient's home.
This free service is available for any inpatient currently at DCH. We regret that we are unable to deliver cards to patients in our ER or those receiving outpatient surgery or diagnostic testing.
