Peggy Sease begins her tenure as vice president, human resources for DCH Health System in January.
In her new role, Sease will have responsibility for the overall direction and management of the human resources function for the Health System. The position requires daily management of the 52-person Human Resources Division including Organizational Development & Education, Employee Health, volunteers and the DCH Employee Assistance Program. Sease will report to DCH President/CEO Bryan Kindred.
Since May 2008, Sease has been vice president of human resources at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, a nonprofit multihospital system in Dothan, Ala. She has responsibility for strategic initiatives for human resources functions such as recruitment and retention, staffing, employee benefits and employee relations, among others.
Sease also worked for University Hospital in Augusta, Ga., where she held the roles of director of human resources and director of education. Her career also included jobs at the director level at West Tennessee Healthcare, Jackson, Tenn., and education-related positions at Palmetto Health Richland, Columbia, S.C.
Sease received her Master of Education degree from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, S.C., and her Bachelor of Science degree from Winthrop University, Rock Hill, S.C.
She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Society of Human Resources. In 2007, she earned the SPHR, the Senior Professional in Human Resources® certification.
