HealthPlex

The HealthPlex is a comprehensive wellness and fitness facility operated by and located on the campus of Pickens County Medical Center.  It is designed to meet your health and fitness needs no matter your age or fitness level.  The HealthPlex offers: an indoor walking/jogging track, an indoor exercise pool, cardiovascular exercise machines, free weights, indoor racquetball court, whirlpool, sauna, aerobics classes, arthritis classes and locker rooms with showers.  If you would like to receive more information about the HealthPlex and the services it offers, please call  (205) 367-8111, ext. 166.

Senior Adult Mental Health Program

The Senior Care Program provides inpatient and psychiatric follow-up services designed to meet the emotional, behavioral and physical needs of senior adults 55 years of age and older.

Referrals to the program may be made by anyone.  Once referred, the Senior Care staff will complete a comprehensive assessment in a location convenient to the individual.  This assessment includes a clinical history, a Mini-Mental Status Exam, Zung Anxiety Rating, and Geriatric Depression Scale.  If admission criteria is met, the individual will be admitted and treatment interventions provided in accordance with identified needs.  Through a structured plan of individual counseling, group therapy, medication management, nursing services, coordinated activities and family support, patients are given every opportunity to enhance their social, physical and mental well-being.  Assistance is available to the patient and the family, when needed, in locating the most appropriate setting following discharge.

Physician Clinics

Carrollton Primary Care Clinic is a hospital-owned, physician clinic located on the Pickens County Medical Center campus.  The clinic provides physician services for patients of all ages including EPSDT screenings, immunizations and vaccinations.  We provide physician services for obstetrical patients, inpatients, nursing home residents and home care patients. Our physicians are also Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama primary care network providers.  Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  If you do not currently have a primary care physician, please contact our office at 367-8197 for assistance with any of your health care needs.

Other Services
